About Senior Science

The study of Senior Science provides students with a contemporary and coherent understanding of some of the basic laws, theories and principles of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth and Environmental Science and their application. It includes an examination of the technology that uses these laws, theories and principles and the impact of this science and technology on society. It reflects the interdisciplinary nature of science, technology and society.

Senior Science caters for a wide range of students, providing stimulation for students who have achieved elementary to substantial achievement level in the School Certificate Science course.

The Senior Science course consists of two distinct parts: a Preliminary course and a HSC course. Students may elect to do the HSC course provided they have successfully completed a Preliminary Science course in any other Science discipline. Both courses are organised into a number of modules.

The HSC course comprises core and options organised into several modules. Students must cover one of the options.

HSC Course - Core Topics

  2. Medical Technology-Bionics
  3. Information Systems
One Option will be studied.
