About Science at Sydney Distance Education High School

We offer Stages 4 and 5 of School Certificate Science for Years 7 to 10 students.

Years 11 and 12 students may select from:

• Senior Science
• Earth and Environmental Science
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics

Senior year students may study up to three of these courses. Go to the links in the drop down list to find a wealth of information about the courses, practical work, excursions and assessment requirements.

We have study days and an extensive field service program to help students overcome any practical work problems.

To be a "Smart " country we need more and more students studying Science. Science opens the door to new technologies, and to a wealth of employment in the technology industries. We have a highly qualified Science staff.

In Years 7 to 10 each student follows an individual program. For general information about the various courses choose the link in the drop down list below.

Each year we have several excursions/study days for each Science subject. Information and photographs from the excursions/study days that took place in 2000 may be found on Excursions.
