Edmund Blackett designed St Stephen's Church in a decorated Gothic style at a cost of £13,000. It was consecrated in 1874. Architectural historian, Morton Herman, described it as: "one of the finest, if not the best, of Blacket's designs". His other well-known work is St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney. St Stephen's services feature its English Walker organ, built in 1874 at a cost of £800. Find out about the pews - seats in St Stephen's. |
