Social Science

Asian content in Social Science subjects

The key learning area of Social Science focuses on the study of people (Society, Aboriginal Studies), the environment (Geography) and the structures of society (Culture, Law and Economics.) The practical subjects in this key learning area include Commerce, Business Management, Skills for Living and Business Studies.

Presently the Asian content of Social Science courses is mainly in Geography and Economics. In senior Geography Asian cities are studied and the senior subject of Economics deals with the Asian Economic crisis.

There is a potential to learn a great deal about Asia through the key learning area, Social Science.
